The Causeway Coastal Route and Belfast are Top of the poll for Lonely Planet.

The travelling masterpiece that is The Lonely Planet, has voted the North Coast and Belfast as no.1 destination.  They have done that for a reason.

There is so much to see and do along Causeway Coastal Route and breathtaking scenery to take in.  It really is spectacular.  Whether you stop at Magheracross Car Park and view the magnificent Dunluce Castle at sundown on one side, or the wonderful Whiterocks Beach on the other you will be mesmerised by the view.  Then you have Whitepark Bay on round the coastal road, where if you are lucky you will see a few cows lying on the beach sunbathing!

This week sees the start of the world famous North West 200 motorbike race around the North Coast.  The route takes in Portstewart, Coleraine, Portrush and is known as the Triangle, with average speeds of 120mph.

With so many attractions and activities to enjoy it makes for a difficult decision to try and fit them all in.  Some of the new activities include Born To Run Tours – Jonny will take you on some amazing routes around the Causeway Coast and Belfast – Jonny loves to run!  Then you have the new Game of Thrones Coasteering NI guys, who will let you jump off cliffs and rocks in the filming locations on the North Coast.  Game of Thrones is the Worlds No.1 TV show – a lot of the filming is done right here in Northern Ireland at the Titanic Studios in Belfast and on the North Coast.  These sites have seen unprecedented numbers of visitors in the last few years.  A number of Lacada Lodge visitors have stayed for a week and still haven’t had enough time to see and do all the Game of Thrones related activities they want!  So they will be coming back!
